Assistant Carpenter Job - Orange County, CA

Cooks Finish Carpentry, a rapidly expanding company in Orange County, CA, is looking for an experienced Assistant Carpenter with a passion for carpentry and a keen eye for detail. We specialize in a broad spectrum of carpentry work, emphasizing perfection in every project we undertake.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in a range of carpentry tasks including door and jamb installation, door hardware prepping and installation, and the fitting of door casing and baseboards.

  • Work alongside lead carpenters, demonstrating a strong desire to learn and follow directions meticulously.

  • Participate in the installation processes of interior and exterior doors, setting jambs and pocket frames, conventionally hanging doors, mortising hinges, and boring doors.

  • Support in applying weather-stripping, prepping and installing door hardware, and installing casing, tongue and groove, baseboard, shiplap, wainscoting, coffered ceilings, box beams, solid beams, and fireplace mantels.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in doors and mouldings, with a preference for those experienced in door installation and related tasks.

  • Strong desire to learn and willingness to take direction from lead carpenters.

  • Must own a truck or van, and possess the necessary tools to perform job site tasks.

  • Valid CA driver's license and insurance.
